Almost a quarter of a century has passed since the end of the "Gulf War" (eng. — Gulf War). In the foreign literature on international relations, strategic studies and in the publications of a purely military nature of the topic are covered in some detail and thoroughly. In Russia the majority of the authors concentrate mostly on the political side of the armed conflict, often limited to the assessment of the military-strategic and tactical aspects through the use of established clichés like "war live", "television war", etc. Perhaps one of the main aspects that attracts the attention of Russian authors writing on this subject is the study of the experience of aviation war and the use of high-precision weapons. Without a doubt, this is important because one of the hallmarks of the wars of the fourth (Russian classification — sixth)generation 1 is the use of precision munitions and aircraft, as the main instrument of warfare a new type.
The experience of two wars in Iraq really showed that, in fact, the command of the American army come to the decision to go for an almost complete rejection of the use of unguided bombs, replacing them with ultra-precise counterparts, and guided missile systems, including increased accuracy. However, the contribution of this conflict in military science, strategy and tactics of a much broader. This applies, in particular, to such aspects as the use of ground troops in the conflict
such scale. You must understand that the experiences of the USA and countries-members of the coalition multinational force in the war, has become, if not a starting point for the development of various concepts of warfare a new type (for example, the development of the ideas of network-centric warfare), so the analysts have provided extensive factual material that had to be treated for many years. In some ways, this process continues to this day, forming the image of the modern armed forces of many States.
