On Friday, October 5, in the framework of the Interparliamentary activities of the Russia-Greece, in Athens was held a round table on the theme: "Sustainable tourism: the Role of regions in promoting environmental and cultural dimensions".
According to experts of the Center for strategic estimates and projections, strengthening cultural-ideological factor in the development of international relations today becomes a stable trend. Cultural and educational networks are becoming a driving force in modern international politics.
In his speech, the head of the parliamentary friendship group of Greece and Russia state Duma Deputy, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on transport and construction Paul Fedyaev ("UNITED RUSSIA") said that in terms of cultural and historical proximity of two countries one of the important directions of cooperation should be humanitarian sphere and education. In practice this can be implemented in the form of open joint educational programs, intensive student exchange. Education, science and tourism are closely linked and become the basis for humanitarian and socio-economic cooperation.
"In view of the special importance of Maritime navigation for both countries, perhaps the development of exchange in this regard, the establishment of joint funds for the support of research on the marine spaces, development of Oceanology. Interchange in the field of education and science will serve as a reinforcing factor for the development of mutual tourism, will help to build a strong "horizontal" communication between public organizations, which will create a framework for progress in bilateral relations at the intergovernmental level", - said the MP.
Fedyaev highlighted the importance of environmental factors for the development of the tourist potential countries. "In today's world plays a huge role environmental factors – clear sea, environmentally friendly food. This is the number one factor. People choose to relax and stay eco-friendly areas which are known worldwide. Monitoring of this issue is carried out continuously. Exchange the best achievements and technologies in construction, industry, agriculture, clean sea water and the coast, and cooperation in this sphere is of great importance and interest to business circles of our countries", - said the MP.
Fedyaev drew attention to the current trends of political relations between Russia and the EU countries, which shows how life was divided into two lines. One such line is the decisions taken at the bilateral level between our countries and serve for the benefit of their national economic interests. The second line is the decisions taken by the European Union as a political entity and the headquarters of NATO in Brussels, and increasingly contrary to the national economic and trade interests of the countries-participants of EU in relations with Russia. This same trend is observed in Greece. Countries are forced to play music for music of Brussels, and the music they increasingly do not like, because it leads to direct economic losses, which affect the standard of living of the population.
"Increasingly, national economic interests come first, and relations are developing in the bilateral format. The current policy of the EU countries also see in the future and political damage to themselves. Politics of a multipolar world is clearly going to change the policy of a unipolar world. On the chessboard of world politics, their positions are increasing to countries such as China, India and other BRICS Countries, ASEAN is rapidly gaining a leading position in the Maritime economy", - said the Deputy.
In conclusion, Fedyaev noted that Russia and Greece have strong Maritime relations Maritime culture. The merchant Navy is of particular importance for the Greek economy, its owners today owns about 17% of the world's merchant fleet, almost 50% of the merchant fleet in the EU.
One of the points of growth of Maritime cooperation between the two countries, the MP called the cruise ship. The MP proposed to consider the path of creating Maritime trade unions, which will allow you to circumvent sanctions and to harmonize the many complex issues and disputes.
"Amid the crises of world politics, the relations of States in the marine economy developing much more dynamic and more successful. Professionals in the marine business I appreciate friendship and relationship. As practice shows, the Maritime relationship stronger and more reliable short-term policy. Cultural and religious factors historically provide a solid Foundation for relations between Russia and Greece. We have a large potential for the development of inter-parliamentary communications", - concluded the Deputy.
