In a lecture for students of the faculty of integrated security TEK Gubkin University, Director of the Russian Center for political information Alexei Mukhin told about the experience of the analyst in modern conditions.
Alexei Mukhin, a famous Russian political scientist, publicist and teacher. Regular comments from Alexei Mukhin on current political and economic developments are leading Russian and foreign media, such as Spiegel, The New York Times, Le Figaro, France 24, Deutsche Welle, Kommersant, Nezavisimaya Gazeta, Izvestia, "First channel", Russia Today, "the Fifth channel", "Business FM", "Kommersant FM", "Echo of Moscow" and many others.
In November 2019, Alexei Mukhin, spoke to future specialists in the field of information security with a lecture on "Experience of the analyst in modern conditions: the geopolitical and political analysis". The expert noted that in today's world a huge amount of information and volume of this information grows constantly. It is now fashionable to talk about Big Data (the work with large volumes of data) and those tools that are capable of Big Data to put at the service of humanity. We are talking about artificial intelligence. If earlier the volume of information was not so large, and humanity worked mainly with texts, but now the volume of information is growing, there are various forms of processing and storing this information. But it is phenomenal that the increase and multiplication of knowledge does not occur, and there is their duplication.
"All of these Big Data 80% of the copier and the self-copy information, said Alexei Mukhin. - I work on Facebook, Twitter (Instagram does not), and see how evolyutsioniruet these social networks as they develop, as they try to process information, and most importantly, how it is used. It reminds me of areas of work that I observed in the Soviet era, in the post-Soviet era, when the Internet was not yet. Yes, I'm from the days when we went to the library and flip through regional Newspapers and was the reviews and the books you are reading now, may have even rarity. They are in electronic form now, too. They describe that the country was at the turn of the 20th and 21st century."
According to the expert, the content that now the Internet is presented, reminiscent of cube Maggi (dry concentrated soup), which was thrown into the water and there was Big Data. Adding water, you can dilute this "soup" to unimaginable amounts. But the valuable information that remained in the crystals of the dry concentrate, which existed from the very beginning and nothing has changed. Humanity is trying to create new arrays of information that will be used in the construction of artificial intelligence. However, as progressive development of technology and enhance their technological level, with the human brain the process is reversed. At the time, students, and scientists knew that beverage knowledge and is forming its own logical-analytical apparatus was a tool that allowed them to shape the content. And to them we now enjoy to a large extent. Some say: "Here is new!". As it turns out – is not new. Wrote about it and talked 20-30 years ago.
"With the advent of smartphones, people began to think that the availability of search engines gives a false sense of awareness, - said Alexei Mukhin. - But no awareness no. A man begins to atrophy very important elements of consciousness: analytical, synthesizing, and most importantly - predictive".
In the expert community thought: why is this happening? But, unfortunately, is a side effect of the development of a consumer society, so-called "production costs". It is advantageous to large corporations that largely shape the scientific community, the expert community, take it to the service. They are not interested in having people thinking about what they do, how they think, where they're moving. Corporations prefer that people have made a choice between this product and that, between this thesis and that, between this political preference and this. And depending on this form the information market, consumer goods market, the marketplace of ideas, the market people and so on. According to Alexei Mukhin, such a practice will lead us to that condition which we now call the cave. Because at some point, the human brain under the influence of the instinct of self-preservation begins to restart. And it's scary. Because this is the state before the war, when the attempt to evolve the human brain will have a certain limit, and that the human brain can not cope.
In these cases, and there are conflicts, massive psychological breakdowns that lead to a global military disasters. For example, the military conflicts in Iraq, Syria and so on, is usually an artificial state of society in which one society plunges more, in order to Rob it. Global conflict is formed and is inevitable if human society begins to experience a strong mental discomfort. Some believe that they are more equal than others (the ideology of Nazism, which, in fact, led to a global catastrophe in the twentieth century).
"Peculiarities of information in modern conditions, said Alexei Mukhin, - akin to the activities of doctors who treat society. If you treat it as the formation of the market, it is obvious that we go to a global cataclysm. If you treat this as an attempt to understand the problem, explore it, give solutions to these problems, the analyst akin to the work of doctors. And analysts must understand the degree of responsibility for their work. Some of us must have visited doctors who Google before to write the patient a prescription. Here is an example of what future doctors did not understand what they are doing at the lectures during their studies, they thought well there is the Internet, and they search engine will find the solution. There is even a system where young doctors are forced to do it. That is, you can't give your diagnosis, you definitely need to use the Internet technology, the so-called digitalization of the profession Internet technology to write prescriptions, prescribe treatment, diagnosis, and this is a degradation and not human development. Here may even reach the proverbial digital dictatorship, when we will be fully subordinated to this a small or large device".
According to Alexei Mukhin, the main trend of information: "overcome" it, because too much "water" and repetitions. When working with open sources must have the professional skill to see the huge flow of Big Data are the points from which, in fact, at odds with the duplication of information or misinformation at odds. To identify the main points, which are fundamental for the further development of the information flow. And it's important to see them correctly. Look at these points from several sides, this is called "verification source". In the future, based on the information you have received, and considering how and what factors that build from these theses, of these points its own concept and offer it as expert opinion. Generally, expert opinion is the basis for the forecast, because the forecast and recommendations is what to expect from the experts in the field of Analytics future employers. It is important to not only monitor the media and social networks, it is important to read and understand what they read. A little reading, it is important to understand what you read, and now with this big problem. The transformation of the source base occurs rapidly. The main problem is that getting a very modern level of knowledge in schools and universities, you got into the surrounding information and the digital world, suddenly you will see that this knowledge is already obsolete. And that's fine. It always happens. Realizing that change is inevitable, even professionals, long cooked in this soup, every day "reboot the system". It is very important to be able to change yourself to be popular and professionally well off. But these changes must be conscious. Each change must carry a specific meaning: not just I'm changing myself because my fitness coach said I there something I do wrong. Do you must be this intelligent fitness coach, we need to consciously do these steps in order to react to external stimuli. Most importantly, what is happening in the information world. It is so diverse that to grasp it with the help of perception is impossible. It can only be felt intuitively, and intuition is an important tool that analysts will use in their professional activities.
The expert noted that the organization of information work simple. You take the mass of information that distinguish all of her need and use for work. But there are small nuances. You can get misinformation. There is information and misinformation. Misinformation can be unintentional, you are mistaken and believe that moving in the right direction. And there is a deliberate misinformation. Unfortunately, the second kind of misinformation is much more tenacious and much more Intrusive and gives you a complex view of reality, as it is a product of the same smart people like you, but only with a different information side. This employees of those corporations who cause you to have a certain distorted view of reality that you act within the market and the laws of the market. Here the ability to distinguish this misinformation from the real information that reflects reality, and is the main "gland" in the analyst, which should work very well. Otherwise you will begin to "swim" in this sea of information, "choking", occasionally leaving the water with the head and thinking that below - a herd of sharks. And always sinking into a state of panic. Information panic is akin to a psychological disorder and it should work too.
In conclusion, Alexei Mukhin noted that the requirements for the work of analysts easy. Be calm, as in the saying of the Japanese: when you look at the surface of the lake reflecting the moon and see the surface ripples or waves, you can't understand WHAT is actually reflected in the lake, but if the water is calm, you will see fully all the features of the sky reflected in the lake.
"Your spirit should be like that when you're working in the information field, to adequately reflect WHAT is happening there. And then intuitively, analytically you will understand all the processes and nuances of what is happening around you and with you. And most importantly – you will know what happens then. Using this method, it can very quickly become a Pro. And remember: when you learn, any information that is embedded in you now, someday you'll appreciate. Not tomorrow or the day after. In five, ten, fifteen years, it will definitely come in handy!"
