Scientists have built a family tree for 13 million people over a period of 300 years

Recently a group of scientists presented the results of their project to create a family tree for 13 million people. The period of time for which the constructed tree is 3 century.

The project itself is a not a manifestation of the usual curiosity and the desire to track the migratory flows of people in Europe and the United States, and also to understand how true the statement "all people — brothers". Data for wood were taken from being shared, analyzed and compiled.

The task itself can not be called simple, because you can bring together the data of 13 million people (and before that, even to get all of this information) is not an easy task. In addition, the tracking of relationships between remote in time generations — it is even more difficult. However, scientists took over and decided to bring it to fruition.

Getting all the necessary information, the scientists were able to begin the analysis of migration flows of people over a specified period of time. In addition, specialists began to study the life expectancy of people from different eras. By the way, revealed the interesting fact is that men more often than women were out on long trips. Sometimes they were so long that the man found his end in the country on the other side of the Earth.

This difference in mobility, i.e. the possibility to travel was very prominent between 1650 and 1800. A little later, the situation began somewhat to change and women began to travel not less often than men. Turned out that the closer to our time, the more remote may be different from other people who got married and even had children. For example, in the year 1800 he married the people who lived near each other. This refers to the close proximity 19 km away. a Century later, this distance increased more than 5 times, reaching 100 km.

Another interesting point — before 1850, the people often married or marrying relatives (cousins and second cousins and sisters). Over time, this trend gradually began to fade. The scientists were able to track the lifespan of those people whose data was in the report. As it turned out, our ancestors lived much less than we are, due to various reasons, from hard work to less severe disease.

The project was considered to be significant primarily because the scientists were able to obtain access to the databases of genetic data. In the future, you can examine them more carefully, making certain conclusions. The results of the study will be useful for many branches of science, what was said above.
