Germany for gas supplies from Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan
The German government supports the construction of alternative pipelines to Europe via Turkey, said on Tuesday, August 21, Reuters. "We are very keen to continue to develop a "southern gas corridor", - said the Agency representative of the German government.

"Southern gas corridor" consists of three pipelines - the South Caucasus (Baku - Tbilisi - Erzurum), TRANS-Anatolian (TANAP) and TRANS Adriatic (TAP). It is assumed that gas from the Azerbaijani field "Shah Deniz-2" will reach Turkey, then part of it must pass through the 800-kilometer TAP will run from the Turkish-Greek border in the Northern part of Greece, traverse Albania and Adriatic sea and reach Italy's shores. It is expected that delivery of Azerbaijani gas to Europe in the amount of 10 billion cubic meters a year starting in 2020.

"To get gas to Europe not only from Russia but also from other regions, is part of the EU strategy for diversification", - says the representative of the German government. Azerbaijan, he was named a strategically important country and made the future possibility of gas supplies from Turkmenistan, Iran and Iraq to Europe.
