Material posted: Publication date: 13-07-2013

March 22, 1924 in a peasant family Theodore S. Borisov and his wife Anna Trofimovna Borisova (Galician) a boy was born, named Misha. Place of birth was the village of St. Michael Bayevsky district of Altai Krai. The village was small, lost in the boundless steppes of the Altai and almost detached from the outside world. Father Fyodor Sergeevich, from Semirechensk Cossacks, were engaged in arable farming. Mother Anna Trofimovna Galician is the daughter of immigrants from distant Chernihiv, kept the house. Son almost from the cradle taught to wield a gun and sit on a horse.

Here's how Mikhail Fedorovich remembered his childhood:

"I was born in Altai, in the village of Mikhailovsky district Bayevsky. The village was small – twenty houses, lurking under the green canopy of birch trees. Near our house hit spring, the nightingales nest. Grandfather, old Semirechensk Cossack, tried to educate his grandson in his own way. In two or three years, he put me in the saddle. When I was four years old, his father set him in the room stool, on the door painted a target, loaded the guns weak charge. I shot him, he said I got. I don't know, and cheated".

When Misha was six years old the family moved Borisovi in the city of Kamen-na-Obi. Here he went to school. Michael woke up very early the love of reading, especially poetry. In fifth grade he began to write poetry. It was even nicknamed "Pushkin "And 5". The boy's self-esteem is flattered. In his heart he was sure that no accident was born in St. Michael – the name associated with his favorite poet. But for the ambition, even boyish, the reasons were: on the city competition of children's creativity, his poem "death of a Commissar" was awarded first place. With prize in hand – a small school globe! he flew home as if on wings!..

However, the wings, like poetry, also had his dream. In the city library, in classrooms where older he became his own man, Mike met with some of the works of Tsiolkovsky, learned rare for that time, the word "cosmos" and in dreams often were carried away in interstellar space ... In real life this resulted in a quest to become a pilot. He even tried to enroll in flight school. Not adopted – he was seventeen years old.

"At school we had a good military instructor, a member of the fighting at lake Khasan, was awarded the medal "For military merit". Though not very competent man, he loved his job and us kids. Literally spent day and night with us and we with him went the crowd – the first awarded saw. In short, I knew the device rifle, revolver, machine gun".

In 14 years, Mikhail Borisov has become a Komsomol member, was actively involved in sports and the military circles, was a pioneer-leader in one of the Junior class. When he was seventeen years old, and graduated from the 8th class, came the war.

The first baptism

The day after the attack of fascist Germany Michael secretly from the parents ran to the recruiting office and asked a volunteer to the front. He was denied for age. Michael persevered and persuaded a strict military Commissioner to take it. So in August 1941 he was accepted into the ranks of the red Army, but sent not to the front, and on training in the Tomsk artillery school No. 2. 4 months later, in early November 1941, Mikhail Borisov as part of a large group of cadets was sent to the suburbs, to defend the capital, but he was not able to participate. Immediately he was sent on to Krasnodar, where he was enrolled in a spotter 50-mm mortar company commander.

Its first baptism of fire soldiers Mikhail Borisov took part in the amphibious assault, landed in December 1941 on the Crimean coast, in the area of Kamysh-Burun, near Kerch. Still in the Strait Marines has suffered a massive RAID by enemy aircraft. Several purse-Seine vessels on which they walked, were sunk. However, landed successfully, and Kerch was liberated almost in stride. Troopers obstinately held the captured bridgehead, although the losses were very large. Mortar company, where Michael was the gunner, was decimated, not enough ammo ... At one of the abandoned enemy positions Mikhail Borisov found two guns with full ammo. With the help of fellow German guns deployed in the opposite direction, in the back of the fleeing enemy, and opened fire.

Mortar company lasted only a few hours. Survivor fighters were assigned to other units. Mikhail Borisov has been in exploration, but after a few weeks he was appointed gunner of 82-millimeter mortar. Two months of continuous fighting were not in vain: somewhere under Vladislavovka he was wounded in the leg and seriously wounded. It happened on March 22, 1942, the day he turned 18. During the war, such a coincidence has happened twice in 1943 and 1945.

Iron dark night in the hold of some ship with other wounded he was sent to the coast of the Caucasus. Converted into a hospital named after Semashko in Essentuki, where he was treated for a month, seemed a Paradise of heaven. But looking at strict beauty of the Caucasus Lermontov, Mikhail kept seeing before his eyes the light birch groves and Golden fields of his native Altai ...

Of course, the lyrics had a long time to forget, once in may 1942, he returned to the everyday life of a soldier's life. But I was glad that once in the 36-th guards rifle regiment 14th guards rifle division, he got a "job" – became a gunner 45mm anti-tank guns, the famous "sorokopyatka", which the soldiers have named "goodbye, Motherland" and "Death calculation". Almost immediately after arriving at the regiment Mikhail Borisov became a member of crossing the don North of Stalingrad, after enduring a grueling multi-day March through the sweltering Kalmyk steppe. Exactly three months on a busy patch there were bloody battles for the retention and expansion of the bridgehead. During the fighting at Stalingrad the calculation of Mikhail Borisov was completely replaced 5 times, however he never got hurt. During the retreat he found himself several times behind enemy lines, but always had entrusted to him a panorama of the gun and was always in his part. The marking 19 November 1942 shifted to a rapid encirclement of the enemy forces and skillful reflection of her rushing to the rescue of the hordes of Manstein.

"In the beginning of 1943 the division somewhere redeployed. I had a cold, and apparently had a fever. We walked at night in the snow. I grabbed the cart and dozing on the go. The hand was loose, I fell and never woke up. The guys noticed, shook, rose, I grabbed, walked a bit and fell again. This time no one noticed, and when I woke up, there was no one there. I was lying on the road. It took many, many years, I became a member of the Union of writers and decided to write a memoir. Two plus months of sitting in Podolsk in the archive of the Ministry of defense, was reading the documents of the 14th guards rifle division. I caught a report of the divisional political section that next morning after that night when I fell behind, the division took up the defence. Firing positions occupied and the battery of forty-fives. In a RAID of enemy aircraft killed a calculation under the command of Sergeant Ilchenko. This is my calculation. I don't get sick and don't fall, it appear to them..."

In that distant January 1943, his, sleeping on the road of the Russian soldier, picked up the same Russian soldier – unknown to the driver of the 58th mechanized brigade and drove to the location. After the incident, Mikhail Borisov was employed as a gunner guns ZIS-3 in a separate fighter anti-tank artillery battalion.

Already the gunner 76-millimeter guns, he participated in the liberation of Donbass. In those days, it took to the party. And soon (11 February 1943), a young Communist was a feat which was noticed by the command. His gun was on the outskirts of the farm "Chelyuskinets" near Debaltsevo. It was detached from the fire support to infantry.

At some point, a handful of gunners suddenly leaned German machine gunners. There were many of them, about two hundred. I had to shoot from close range just under the leaden shower. And when the Nazis lay in deep snow, the gunner was hit on the crowns of nearby trees and, as shrapnel, covered by enemy soldiers. In this battle, Mikhail Borisov has destroyed the enemy machine gun, the armored vehicle and up to 140 people living power.

"...In Voroshilovgrad region I in the first and only time I saw the psychic attack of the Germans. Not like in the movie "Chapaev" – there were shoulder to shoulder, and then walked three chains, and they still between soldiers was half a meter distance. It was wild... then We were told that it was the division, just arrived from France, the fighting is not involved. We let them anywhere near 400 meters, and opened rapid fire. It was terrifying – there are many others. Nailed it. The guys then went around the field, looking for the jar with brandy. Since they're from France, there must be brandy?! There were a lot of jars... each soldier, but brandy was nowhere. Because not a whole jar, all were perforated. Such was the fire."

The Sergeant submitted for the award order of the red banner. Unfortunately, the award list, as it quite often happened in the confusion of those days where something got lost. Thus, the long-awaited award ceremony did not take place. In the Central archives of the defense Ministry of the USSR remained only a mention of the recommendation for award da the feat. But after two months, a young Communist the YCL has appointed a separate fighter anti-tank artillery battalion.

Through a month after the battle near the village of Petrovka the position of his artillery battalion, which was located near another village – Kitava, about eight kilometers from the city of Chuguev, bombed Italian biplanes "McKee-200". Michael was severely contused. It happened again on his birthday, 22 March 1943, when he was nineteen years old.

The main fight

On the Voronezh front, in the position of the Komsomol leader of the artillery battalion 58 th motorized rifle brigade, Borisov took part in the battle of Kursk. On the morning of 11 July 1943 near the village of Prokhorovka (Belgorod region) Mikhail Borisov was involved unequal fight of one of the batteries with the nineteen heavy tanks of the enemy. When the Nazi barrage of hot metal the battery was suppressed and stopped the last gun, his sight had penetrated the YCL Borisov and continued the unequal battle ...

Nazi tanks crawling and crawling trying to get around the battery. Borisov himself, brought the shells, he loaded itself with a direct fire shot on the enemy tanks. For a short time Borisov has destroyed seven enemy machines. Not just German tanks, but seven Tigers. Those who have been in war, could tell that at times meant and how much cost to stop only one car. The eighth car he stopped at sixty yards from the guns and fell badly wounded ...

"...Three tanks caught fire. One jumped out the tank. Still remember: thin, in a black suit, standing and facing in our direction with his fist. I told him on the tower and hit. I absolutely was not necessary, but a passion... One of the tanks broke through to the gun, a distance of maybe 60-70 meters. A few more seconds and he would have crushed me. I pulled him on the forehead and pulled the trigger – sparks. Nothing, of course, he did not become. But he stopped and fired. Remained in the memory of a piece of blue sky, and spinning wheel from my guns ..."

And again Mikhail Borisov was lucky – his duel with the tigers from his vantage point seen in telescope, the corps commander, General Aleksey Popov, and ordered the chief of the political Department of the brigade of Ivan Shukin to get brave gunner from fire.

In the hospital he was operated on. A week later, when he began to feel better, he's accumulating a bit of black bread, escaped the bandaged man, without papers towards the front in search of his military unit. And on the way learned what an achievement at Prokhorovka he (nineteen!) presented with the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. This time rewarding, albeit with some delay, took place – by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of January 10, 1944 for courage and heroism shown in fights, guards senior Sergeant Borisov Mikhail Fedorovich was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, the order of Lenin and medal "gold Star" (No. 2358).

Only after returning to his unit, Michael has learned that on 11 July at Prokhorovka field, the largest world war II tank battle that both sides in a deadly battle came together there almost 1,200 combat vehicles that ended this battle a complete defeat of the German tank groups. The result of this fight, senior Sergeant Mikhail Borisov appeared in the list of personal enemies of Hitler along with Stalin, Marshal Zhukov, the Soviet radio announcer Yuri Levitan and the composer Dmitri Shostakovich, whose Seventh Symphony was performed in the besieged Leningrad. Many years later, when I became a famous poet and the author of several large and small books, Mikhail Borisov, in one of his poems wrote:

Forty-third bitterness wormwood
To have smelled from afar –
Chernow, charred plain
I see Kursk.
Those fights – as a measure of our strength.
Because she and the road,
Death become attached to Russia
The great Kursk arc.

Many years later, his unprecedented feat made the Guinness book of records "planet" (similar to the Guinness Book of records).

The autograph on the Reichstag

Mikhail Borisov is an active participant in the liberation of Kiev and Warsaw. 1 September 1944 he was sent to frontline courses for Junior lieutenants. February 23, 1945 was awarded the rank of Junior Lieutenant. After several reports were again sent to the front, to force the release of Oder and Seelow heights. On his birthday, 22 March 1945, Mikhail Fyodorovich, was wounded in the jaw, but knowing about the forthcoming attack on Berlin just then returned from the hospital to his unit. But soon again was wounded, in the leg, but not to the hospital went. After bandaging he commanded a platoon of battery management on crutches.

The final point in the great Patriotic War he set on may 3, 1945 on one of the columns of the Reichstag, over which fluttered the banner.

"...Around lime, soot, all charred, half destroyed. Everywhere inscriptions. I could not resist, also took a piece of lime and wrote: "I am from Siberia". And signed by Mikhail Borisov. It was my very first autograph. I decided that my war was over. I realized later that she left in me for life".

In defeated Berlin Mikhail Fedorovich Borisov was awarded the title of Lieutenant. After the war, with several serious wounds, he continued to serve in the army. In 1946 he went to the reserve.

Peaceful life

In 1948 Mikhail Borisov graduated from the Novosibirsk law school. Worked as an assistant Prosecutor and an investigator, was a member of the city Soviet of people's deputies of Novosibirsk. From 1952, he served in state security bodies. In 1954 he graduated from the Alma-ATA Institute of law, and in 1960 – Kuznetsky mining College. From 1954 to 1967 he participated in the construction of the West Siberian metallurgical plant, Kuzbass mines, and erected the famous Novosibirsk Akademgorodok. It was life, not creative mission shock construction of the country. Each line as a peg in the layout of new cities and roads of our immense Russia.

From 1962 he began to publish in literary magazines. From 1968 to 1981 he served in the Ministry of interior. Worked in the magazine "In the line of duty", taught at the Academy of Ministry of internal Affairs of the USSR. In 1976 he joined the Union of writers of the USSR. In 1981 Mikhail Fedorovich Borisov resigned in the rank of Colonel. He was a member of the Board of the Moscow club of Heroes of Soviet Union, Heroes of Russia and full Cavaliers of the order of Glory.

After leaving on the deserved rest Mikhail Fedorovich did a lot of military-Patriotic work among servicemen, schoolchildren, the adult population. As an honored soldier enlisted in lists of staff of military unit stationed in Novokuznetsk. Spoke many times on the radio and on television, in the Central and regional (district) Newspapers, almost all magazines. With his participation filmed two documentaries – "the First salute" (1963) and "Field of Prokhorovka" (1983).

Poems by Mikhail Borisov familiar and foreign to readers. Polemicizing with opponents of military themes, he once wrote:

Moderate dust, sudaca about me.
Not for the sake of space under the wing of Victory
In his poems for the line about the war
I give the last sunrises.
You are young. Sure. Strong.
You have a bright future dawns.
And I have not withdrew from the war,
Not all my friends sung.

Mikhail Borisov is the author of over three dozen books. His works were awarded prestigious literary prizes named after A. Fadeev and Konstantin Simonov, the award "Prokhorovka field", honorable mentions of the almanac "Altai" Altai book publishing house (1991). For the book "Echoes at dawn" he was awarded the diploma of the Ministry of defense of the USSR. In 2008, Mikhail Fedorovich was awarded the title of laureate of the award "Golden crown of Victory" in the nomination "non-fiction".

"... From the height of his eighty years, knows the potholes and the roads that once passed. I managed to overcome them all, for that I am grateful to fate and his friends, who lived nearby. ...My career began not in war, and many years later, when fate brought me together with Yaroslav Smelyakov, Vasily Fedorov, Sergei Narovchatov – each in their own way influenced my creativity. Their support has made it possible to believe in himself, get on his feet... Poetry my whole life kept me...".

...The youth... the war... is a huge reservoir of impressions, feelings and experiences of frontline imprint lies on the verses".

For a long time Mikhail Fedorovich Borisov lived and worked in the city-hero of Moscow. However, at home little was published. But still published, help him in this was played by the famous poet Igor pantykhov. His widow Tatiana says:

- We have in house Borisov visited quite often, I first saw it, probably in the mid 80's. he Came several times to Shukshin's birthday celebrations, the festival "Altai autumn".

Before I met him, I Heroes of the Soviet Union has never seen and if I didn't know that he was awarded such a high rank, never would have guessed. Outwardly there is nothing heroic was not – thin, of medium height, in my opinion, one of the main characteristics was his modesty. He never puffed out. Igor Mikhailovich asked him: "do Not be afraid, Mike, you there?" And he answers: "Yes somehow there was no time to be afraid." And that's it. Seen, pulled him to the Altai, he at one time almost every year in the region visited, in Kamen-na-Obi out of town often, where before the war lived and studied, where the front left...

In material terms, in the early 90s, the Hero of the Soviet Union Borisov live, like most of us, not particularly sweet. In support of this is worth quoting two short passages from his letters to Igor Pantuhova sent from Moscow to Barnaul in April 1992 and December 1993:

"...In Siberia are preparing a manuscript to five printed pages, as mentioned. If only my work was not in vain. Maybe will find time and talk to the Director of the publishing house? And one more thing. Find out if Igor that now has a single room in the hotel. And is it possible one or two night stay, say, in your office or in the office of the Executive Secretary, if the prices in hotel rolled over for a hundred rubles."

- "...Last time you called me, I said that I will need a couple days to drop in Barnaul. Forgot to warn you not very scared. I already have the opportunity to stay in a hotel. I'm so grateful to you and Tanya for the shelter provided in an evil time".

Surviving in the brutal meat grinder of war the poet lived a long life and left her in March last year. In the same month, when he was born and when twice could have died, Yes died...

Died March 10, 2010, in 86-m to year of life after long illness.

He was buried at Troekurov cemetery in Moscow.

With 2010 in the city of Kamen-na-Obi Borisov are reading.
