In the book "the Iron moat ("moat Gvozdini") described the combat path of the special forces of state security of Serbia known as the "red berets" their commander Milorad Lemakom, also called "Lehi".

This book represents a work of art based on memories of the author created them in the prison where he is serving a sentence of 40 years imprisonment for the murder of the Prime Minister of Serbia Zoran Djindjic in 2003.

Milorad Lukovic(Ulemek) was until 2002 the unit commander of the special purpose of ISO(SO - edinica for specialne operatie) subordinate the state security of Serbia, until the reorganization of this division in PTI(protectedarticle edinica),subordinate to the Ministry of internal Affairs of Serbia.

The spetsnaz was created by the leadership of the security service (DB) of Serbia in 1991,when Jovica stanišić, chief of state security, the DB of Serbia instructed then to the head of his 2nd administration (responsible for conducting intelligence activities) Franko Simatović - "Frankie" and his Deputy Bozovic Rejoice the creation of special forces that would be able to organize the Serbs of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Their creation began in the summer of 1991 in "Kninska Krajina" on the territory was then created in Croatia Republic of Serbian Krajina - RSK. Thanks to the Serbian veterans of the French foreign Legion, involved in training squad members began wearing red berets, and over time, this "task force" was to be called on their hats - "Cerveny of beretki" - "red berets". Was also engaged as instructor for their preparation, Dragan Vasilkovich, who bore the nickname "captain Dragan".

The Vasylkovych Dragan was born in Belgrade, but still a minor in age with his parents moved to Australia, where he was naturalized, taking the name Daniel Sneden. After receiving authority from Jovica Stanišić, former Minister of interior of Serbia, Radmilo bogdanović, "captain Dragan" in camp Golubici in "Kninska Krajina", from a few thousand local volunteers, created the first group of about 130 people named "ninjani". Over time, the detachments of the "red berets",because of the existence of large numbers of reservists in their forces, spread throughout the territory of Croatia controlled by the Serbs.

Major General JMC (army of the Republic of Serbian Krajina) Milisav sekulič in his book the book "Knin fell in Belgrade" quite positively about "ninjah" "Captain Dragan",calling them the most prepared and disciplined part of ICS, not just diversants conducting operations in the rear of the Croatian troops. Hundreds of Serb volunteers from Croatia and neighbouring Bosnia and Herzegovina, having trained at the camp, returning home, created in coordination with the Directorate of state security of Serbia new units "the red berets", which became an important component of the armed forces of the local Serbs, but also a reliable tool of this DB.

Forces "red berets", created in neighbouring Bosnia and Herzegovina, even before the outbreak of hostilities in April 1992, was instrumental in the beginning of hostilities, when they were captured and a large part of political power centers and were organized by local Serbs.

After the war, in 1996, according to the article "ISO" authors Branko bogdanović and Milan Galovic published in special Supplement No. 2 to the magazine "Kalibar", in Serbia in the state security Department, was created by a group of ISO (SO - edinica for specialne operatie) "red berets", numbering up to 800 men of the permanent personnel under the command of Frankie Simatović.

Further Simatović replaced by Milorad Lukovic (Lemakom),who served in the Foreign Legion of France

Ulemek changed name to lamb in the future, has been since 1991 one of the commanders in "SPEM (the Serb volunteer guard - Srpska Dabrowiak Garda)" Raznatovic Zeljko"Arkan".

The detachment of ISO was stationed in the town of Kula near the New Garden. Because of the existence of a system of "active" reserve, the team had more than a dozen of thousands of reservists that were in the database of the state security of Serbia.

After the overthrow of Slobodan Milosevic lamb, continued to be the commander of JSO who participated in "counter-terrorism" operations in southern Serbia in 2001-2002.

It was later replaced with the post, but even after her shift, continued to control this unit. This fact eventually led to the detachment began to manipulate, and in the end used his fighters in preparation of a failed coup that was to follow the assassination of Zoran Djindjic in March 2003.

Followed by operation of the interior Ministry of Serbia "Sword" ,which, together with hundreds of members of various Serbian organized crime groups, there were a few soldiers of that detachment, and the "Lehi" was arrested in may 2004 after a year of hiding..
