Whatever it was, this charge of American plans geopolitics, hiding the obvious supranational financial interests. Many companies did not take her eyes from the Ukraine long before the Maidan and after it.
This applies, for example, Monsanto, which wants cheap to buy Ukrainian agricultural land to start growing their GMOs on the soil (the fertile soil at the time formed the breadbasket of the Soviet Union). In addition, it relates to producing shale gas companies (some of these deposits are located in Donbas) and those companies that want for pennies to buy Ukrainian factories after the collapse of the national industry as a result of the rupture of relations with Russia. In other words, in wanting to cash in on the Ukrainian people there is no shortage. And they don't care that in the end, mired in poverty and civil war.
These are not fully financial goals (food and energy has obvious geopolitical component) should be added another, which is of great importance from the point of view of geopolitics and Finance: we are talking about the transmission system. The fact that Ukraine is a Central hub in the supply of Russian gas to Europe.
By the way, this is a key role in supplying much needed gas to Europe (Russia supplies almost a third of all European consumption) and the repeated conflicts between Kiev and Moscow after the first Maidan in 2004 are a threat to the supply of the continent. Merkel and Hollande is so actively pushed for the signing of the Minsk agreements not for the beautiful eyes of Poroshenko. The fact is that Germany saw the danger of full collapse and, with it, the supply of Russian gas.
In addition, it is for this reason that Germany insists on the construction of the gas pipeline "Nord stream-2" which will allow it to continue to directly receive gas from Russia to bypass problematic transport hub, which constitutes today's Ukraine.
Ukraine is blackmailing Europe, because it has its finger on the valve and can shut off supplies to the EU or take part of them for its own needs (it is worth Recalling that Kiev had stolen up to 15% of Europe bound gas during the gas conflict during the first independence, that is, the orange revolution). This is the hysterical reaction of Kiev on the project "Turkish stream and Nord stream-2" which may deprive him of the opportunity to interfere, that is geopolitical influence.
In such circumstances, it becomes more clear all the significance published by the "Interfax" October 13 news that Milan Rothschild Bank won the tender to provide Naftogaz of services decentralization gas transportation activities and finding partners to manage the Ukrainian GTS.
The amount of the contract with the Rothschild Bank is 98 million (3.15 million euros), whereas the total cost of the work is estimated to be of 193.3 million (6,213 million euros) as indicated on the website ProZorro data of the tender.
If all this seems somewhat vague, I'll explain what the implications of this promise of the contract.
For a start, look at what is meant by decentralization? It should be noted that state company Naftogaz controls the entire gas industry and the oil sector, from production to transportation and marketing. Gas transportation system, in turn, is engaged in the company (fully owned by Naftogaz and thus the Ukrainian state).
In other words, in the current environment, Naftogaz controls the company through all the pipelines in the country. By the way, that's Naftogaz pays Gazprom for the delivered gas to Ukraine. Not paid accounts become the reason for the gas conflict of two countries.
So, what changes to the current tender? Decentralization of the Ukrainian gas transport system means that it will be open to competition. In other words, state-owned gas will be sold (first part, but later definitely fully) to private companies.
Here Rothschild is acting as "investment Bank". He will advise Naftogaz in selecting the most suitable companies for the sale of their shares owned by a Ukrainian company GTS, that is to provide the most favorable privatization of state property.
The idea is that eventually the Ukrainian gas hub will already belong not to the state but to private enterprises and hence investors and banks like Rothschild, who clearly does not hesitate to represent in the best light-financed (through loans, shares and bonds) or advise them of the enterprise to derive maximum benefits.
The gas valve will be in the hands of the Ukrainian state and private enterprises and banks, including the Bank of Rothschild (his past in the form of a bloody investment in the XIX century it is easy to trace in the network on sites like Investopedia or Telegraph).
Ukraine will divide and sell in pieces in the market to the benefit of financiers. In addition, given the geopolitical, strategic and financial importance of the Ukrainian gas transport node, it is terrible to see him impose his hands bloody banks with such liabilities as Rothschild.
It is worth remembering that most wars in the world over the past decade (this also applies to those that are only being prepared) maintained primarily for natural resources (oil, gas, precious metals), and that these conflicts are very profitable for those who invest in them. Some families like the Rothschilds amassed vast fortunes on the blood and death of soldiers who believed that protect the homeland, but only helped others to get rich.
