New weapons Russia: elections and referendums in the EU
Material posted: Publication date: 19-05-2016
When conservative politicians the Folketing realized that Denmark will have to suspend their military plans in favor of buying new F-35 fighter, their annoyance was visible to the naked eye.

Defence Minister Peter Christensen (Peter Christensen) called the situation "deplorable", while conservative Jarls Rasmus (Rasmus Jarlov) found it "incomprehensible", and Marie Krarup (Krarup Marie), Chairman of the Danish people's party on issues of defense is "problematic". Denmark became a warlike nation, which is accustomed to paramilitary forms of foreign policy activity, and the purchase of new fighter aircraft, which limits the conduct of hostilities in Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq and other remote parts of the world, undermines the course.

Current trend in Danish foreign and security policy leads to the fact that any major problems will automatically suggest a military solution. In Europe when attacks occur, we bomb Islamic state in the middle East. When refugees are too many, in the Mediterranean sea include NATO warships. When Russia's changing borders and increasing the territory, the first thing we think about new fighter jets and other military responses.

Such a policy can indeed be relevant, in any case, it deserves discussion.

But coming or, in the opinion of conservatives that threatens us break in the bombardment, can be used to review existing risks. Whether gunpowder and cannons is the best response?

EU or fighters?

Russia is one of the main challenges of our time.

As a resurgent regional power, Putin's Russia moves borders in Europe, involved in the shadow war in Ukraine, bombing the middle East and threatens the Swedish and Danish military repression in the case of expansion of cooperation of Nordic countries with NATO.

In addition, it is possible that Russia is prepared to use nuclear weapons in the framework of the so-called politics of escalation for the sake of de-escalation.

In other words, there is every reason to believe that Russia today represents a greater threat than immediately after the end of the cold war, when the country became a chip of big politics.

The new fighter may be a response to Russia's actions.

But for Europe it is equally important to remain United and to fight the destructive tendencies that now threaten the European cooperation.

As recently stated by the Danish foreign intelligence service in the so-called trend analysis, "Europe's global influence is based on a stable unity within the European Union and transatlantic ties between Europe and the United States." The analysis made in the study of Danish foreign and security policy, the results of which were presented to the Prime Minister Lars løkke Rasmussen (Lars Løkke Rasmussen) diplomat Peter Dachshund-Jensen (Peter Taksøe-Jensen).

Paramilitary referendums

Russia has long been watching the European dimension. Therefore, Russian strategists are Arsenal far beyond military aircraft and other armed forces. They support the movement, whose goal is not unification, but separation of Europe. Russia needs Europe to become as little power as possible.

An example of this is the so-called Lisa in Germany, where I live 3-4 million Russian-speaking citizens.

In January, Russian "First channel" gave the story of 13-year-old Russian girl in Berlin, who allegedly was raped by a group of migrants. In the report, whose main objective was to support anti-government sentiment, showed ethnic Russians and xenophobic forces. As a result, the subsequent regional elections, Merkel's position has been shaken, and critical party "Alternative for Germany" has received a lot of votes.

The police investigation revealed that "Lisa" was fabricated, although the Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov accused the Germans in attempts of silencing. Merkel, by contrast, gave the Federal intelligence service of Germany, the Russian instruction to perform communication with "Lisa". According to news Agency Bloomberg, at that time in the German service there was already a Department counter Russian misinformation.

In France Russia also supports forces opposed to the EU. In 2014 migrants hostile to the party of marine Le Pen (Marine Le Pen) national front received 72 million kroons from the First Czech-Russian Bank. Now the party of Le Pen has applied for a loan of $ 125 million for the election campaign next year.

The Russian Embassy in London does not remain aloof from the debate ahead of the referendum on the UK's membership of the EU. When Prime Minister David Cameron stressed that cooperation within the EU would be the best defense against "aggressive behavior" of Putin in Ukraine, the Embassy posted on Twitter a comment that Cameron is unlikely to achieve such arguments that on one hand only to the EU.

Russian-language TV channel, Sputnik, is part of the Arsenal of the Russian state media broadcast that Britain threatened with massive migration and rape, similar to what happened in Cologne on new year's eve if the country will remain an EU member. Source of this assumption became the head of the Party United Kingdom independence Farage (Nigel Farage), who makes no secret that he admires Vladimir Putin.

The same Sputnik interpreted the refusal of the Netherlands to support the new agreement between the EU and Ukraine as the beginning of a process of withdrawal from the EU. In this case, the source was the opinion of one Dutch journalist.

"Russia is beginning to transform the European referendums in the means of waging war," concludes in this regard, Joerg Forbrig (Jörg Forbrig, senior researcher of the German Marshall Fund in Berlin, told Bloomberg.

Although "Lisa" and turned out to be a fraud, it shows how strong the Russian strategy. With his help, managed to weaken the position of German Chancellor Angela Merkel — the only leader that holds the unity of the EU.

We need to think about it during a break in the bombing...
